Add comments

To provide feedback on or discuss an asset, an asset bundle, or an asset bundle review with other team members, add comments to them.

To add comments to specific areas on an asset to provide context, see Add comments to specific areas of image, audio, and video files. To reply to a comment, see Reply to comments.

Add a comment to an asset

1. Open the asset in a project. See Browse projects.

2. Click Comments to view existing comments, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

   If the right panel is hidden, click the Show right panel button at the bottom of the panel.

3. To comment on a previous asset version, select the version to comment on in the list next to the asset filename. Comments are applied to the current version of the asset by default.

4. In the Add a comment field, enter your comment.

   • To add a sketch to a 2D image or a 3D model for your comment, click next to the comment. To learn more about adding sketches to assets, see Add sketches to comments on 2D images and 3D models.

   • To add attachments to your comment, click next to the comment or drag the files from your file browser and drop them in your comment. To learn more about adding attachments, see Attach files to a comment.

   • To add a locked asset view to a comment on a 3D model, adjust the view to best illustrate your comment and click Update lock below the comment. To learn more about adding a locked asset view to your comment, see Lock the position of 3D models for comments.

   To notify a team member about the comment, enter @ and the first few letters of their name. Matching users are shown. Select the user and they are added to the comment. For example @joe-designer. The user will see a notification in P4 DAM.

5. Click Add.

   Your comment is added to the Comments tab.

Add a comment to an asset bundle or an item in an asset bundle

1. Open a bundle in a project. See Browse projects.

2. Click the bundle or the item in the bundle

3. Click Comments to view existing comments, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

4. In the Add a comment field, enter your comment.

   • To add a sketch to a 2D image or a 3D model for your comment, click next to the comment. To learn more about adding sketches, see Add sketches to comments on 2D images and 3D models.

   • To add attachments to your comment, click next to the comment or drag the files from your file browser and drop them in your comment. To learn more about adding attachments, see Attach files to a comment.

   • To add a locked 3D model view to a comment on a 3D model, adjust the view to best illustrate your comment and click Update lock below the comment. To learn more about adding a locked 3D model view to your comment, see Lock the position of 3D models for comments.

5. Click Add.

   Your comment is added to the Comments tab.

Add a comment to an asset bundle review or an item in an asset bundle review

1. Open a bundle review in a project. See Browse projects.

2. Click the bundle review or the item in the bundle review and click Review Comments.

   Existing comments are shown, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.
