Add comments to an asset

To provide feedback on or discuss an asset with other team members, add comments to the asset.

1. Open the asset in a project. See Browse projects.

   On the Comments tab, existing comments are displayed, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments displayed and the asset view, see View asset comments.

2. To comment on a previous asset version, select the version to comment on in the list next to the asset filename. Comments are applied to the current version of the asset by default.

3. In the Add a comment field, enter your comment.

   • To add a sketch to a 2D image for your comment, click next to the comment. To learn more about adding sketches, see Add sketches to comments on an asset.

   • To add attachments to your comment, click next to the comment or drag the files from your file browser and drop them in your comment. To learn more about adding attachments, see Attach files to a comment.

   • To add a locked asset view to a comment on a 3D model, adjust the view to best illustrate your comment and click Update lock below the comment. To learn more about adding a locked asset view to your comment, see Lock the position of 3D models for comments.

   Tip

   To notify a team member about the comment, enter @ and the first few letters of their name. Matching users are displayed. Select the user and they are added to the comment. For example @joe-designer. The user will see a notification in Helix DAM.

4. Click Add.

   Your comment is added to the Comments tab.
