What's new in Helix DAM 2024.6

Helix DAM 2024.6 includes the following new features and enhancements. For a complete list of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes, see the release notes.

Sketch on 3D model assets

When you add a text comment to a 3D model asset (.fbx, .glb and .gltf), you can sketch on the asset to provide context and visual feedback. Sketch using pen, highlighter, and shape tools, and change the sketch color and size.

To learn more, see Add sketches to comments on a 3D model asset.

View skeleton (rigging) for 3D model assets

3D models now include a Skeleton toggle to help you review work related to animation and rigging. Rendering of .fbx, .glb, and .gltf 3D models is supported.

To learn more, see View 3D model skeleton (rigging).

Enhanced tag management

Tags help identify and group assets for better searching and browsing, so it is important to keep tags updated.

Experience these enhancements to tag management:

  • When adding a new tag to an asset, Helix DAM automatically suggests existing tags as you type to help standardize tags used across your assets.

  • Auto-generated AI tags have been separated from the user-applied tags for a clearer view. Click the AI tags Image of the View and manage AI tags button button to view auto-generated AI tags on an asset. To learn more, see Add tags to assets.

  • Add tags to a collection to tag all assets in the collection, including any in folders and subfolders, at the same time in a batch. To learn more, see Add tags to assets in collections.

  • Remove tags that are no longer relevant from all assets in a folder, including subfolders, at the same time in a batch. To learn more, see Remove tags from assets in folders.

Manage company details and settings in Helix DAM

Company admins can now manage company details directly from Helix DAM without switching to Helix TeamHub. In company details, you can rename the company, view the company ID, and manage Helix DAM and Helix Core licenses. You can also manage project creation permissions and how Helix DAM assets are stored in Helix Core Server.

To learn more, see Manage company details and settings.

Improved user management

In the new Edit profile pane, you can update your personal information, change passwords, and create personal Helix DAM API tokens. To learn more, see User menu.

Enable or disable automatic synchronization of Helix users with Helix DAM users in the Helix TeamHub admin UI. When enabled, Helix Core users automatically sync with Helix DAM, eliminating the need to manually add and delete users in Helix DAM. When disabled, users can be added and deleted manually in Helix DAM.
