GitHub webhooks
GitHub webhooks connect P4 Plan with a GitHub repository. Each GitHub webhook is for one repository. If you want to connect to multiple repositories, you will need one webhook for each. They can all use the same GitHub App.
Only administrator users can create webhooks, but all users can create links using established webhooks.
Once a GitHub webhook is established, you can do the following:
- Link pull requests, commits, and branches to P4 Plan items. See Linking to a GitHub pull request, branch, or commit.
- Create a branch in the linked repository from a P4 Plan item. See Creating a GitHub branch from a P4 Plan item.
- See the pull requests and commits on a branch. See Viewing GitHub branch activity.
When you link something to an item, P4 Plan adds a link back to the item in GitHub:
- Pull requests - A "P4 Plan" section in the description.
- Commits - A comment.
- Branches - A comment on the latest commit.
You can not use the webhook to delete branches, merge pull requests or change code.
To connect a GitHub repository and P4 Plan projects, you will need to do the following:
