Linking to a GitHub pull request, branch, or commit

Follow these steps to use a GitHub webhook to create a link to a pull request, branch, or commit on the GitHub repository:

1. Select an item and open the Links tab.

2. Select Add New.

3. Use the Link source menu to select the GitHub webhook.

4. Choose if you want to search for Pull requests, Commits, or Branches.

5. Type at least 3 characters (or 1 for branches) in the search field and press Enter.

6. Select a result from the list.

Branch searches will only look at the first 100 branches. To add another, you can paste the branch URL instead.

7. Use the Relation type that the link represents. For more information, see Creating item links.

8. Use the optional Notes box to add additional information about the link.

The note is applied to all items in the link.

9. Select Link to save.

An alternative way to connect a GitHub repository is to create a link using the URL source type and pasting a GitHub URL. Pull request, commit and branch URLs from a connected repository show the same details.
