Work with assets in collections

When working on a project, use the applications you normally use to create and edit assets. When you want to let other users see, review, and update the assets, upload them to Helix DAM from Helix Sync.

You can:

Task	Action
Select a folder to store your collection in.	Access a collection for the first time, the Select folder dialog opens, select the folder on your computer to store the collection in. See Select a collection folder.
Search all the assets in the collection by asset name or tag.	Open the collection and start typing the asset file name or user-applied tag in the search field. Matching search results are displayed in the All assets list below the search field. See Search for assets.
Add new assets to your collections.	Create a new asset and save it to your collection folder. See Add a new asset to a collection.
View a preview image of an asset and manage the asset.	From the All assets list, click the asset name and the most recent version of the asset on your computer is displayed in Helix Sync. See View a preview and manage the asset.
Edit and rename assets in your collections.	From the All assets list, click the vertical ellipsis next to the asset, click Lock file, and edit the asset. See Edit an asset in a collection.
Delete assets from your collections.	From the All assets list, click the vertical ellipsis next to the asset, click Lock file, and delete the asset. See Delete an asset from a collection.
Open an asset with its default editor.	From the My changes or All assets list, click the vertical ellipsis next to the asset, click Open asset with default editor. See Open an asset in the default editor.
Unlock an asset if you decide not to make changes to it.	From the My changes or My files list, click the vertical ellipsis next to the file, and click Unlock asset. See Unlock an asset in your collection.
