Edit an asset in a collection

You can edit the content of your files or rename them in the collection at any time. Files with updated content are shown as Changed, and renamed files are shown as Renamed in your My changes list.

1. In P4 Sync, click the project to open it, and then open the collection.

2. Click the All assets list.

3. Click next to the asset, and select Lock asset.

   The asset is locked.

   • In the My changes and All assets lists, the asset is labeled as Locked by: me

   • In the Changes by others list, locked assets are labeled Locked by: username (username of the user that locked the asset)

4. Open the asset in the collection.

5. Make any changes to the asset and save it.

   P4 Sync displays the edited asset on the My changes list.

6. When your changes are complete, upload the asset with P4 Sync. See Upload changes.
