This class is used to manage the cached tiles of one or more tile controllers. A cached tile is a tile that is not locked by any object, but still referenced by the cache for reuse. IlvDataTileCache subclasses must implement a strategy to keep/release cached tiles.

Initializes an instance of a tile cache.

Method Detail

releaseTile

protected void releaseTile(IlvDataTile tile)

Releases a tile. This method must be called when a cached tile is disposed from the cache. One exception to this rule is when the controllerDisposed(ilog.views.chart.data.lod.IlvDataTileController) method is called. In that case the controller takes care of releasing the tiles. When this method is called, the controller fires a DataTileEvent.TILE_RELEASED event and calls the IlvDataTileLoader.release(ilog.views.chart.data.lod.IlvDataTile) method.

Parameters:

tile - The tile to release.

tileAboutToLoad

public abstract void tileAboutToLoad(IlvDataTile tile)

Invoked by a tile controller whenever a tile is about to be loaded. The cache can use this notification to decide whether cached tiles should be released.

Note about multi-threading: This method must only be called while the tile's controller is locked.

Parameters:

tile - The tile that is about to be loaded.

tileCached

public abstract void tileCached(IlvDataTile tile)

Invoked by a tile controller whenever a loaded tile is no longer locked.

Note about multi-threading: This method must only be called while the tile's controller is locked.

Parameters:

tile - The tile that has to be cached.

tileRetrieved

public abstract void tileRetrieved(IlvDataTile tile)

Invoked by a tile controller whenever a cached tile is locked again.

Note about multi-threading: This method must only be called while the tile's controller is locked.

Parameters:

tile - The tile that must be retrieved from the cache.

controllerDisposed

public abstract void controllerDisposed(IlvDataTileController controller)

Invoked when a tile controller stops its activity. The cache should remove all the tiles controlled by this controller from its internal structure without releasing the tiles.

Note about multi-threading: This method must only be called while the controller is locked.

Parameters:

controller - The disposed controller.
