Installing and configuring the Hansoft Slack integration

Before team members can use the Slack integration, an administrator must install and configure the required components.

Requirements

The following components are required to use the Slack integration.

  • Hansoft 10.1 or later
  • Hansoft web service—The web service acts as an API endpoint and connects to the Hansoft Server via the Hansoft SDK.
  • Hansoft SDK user for the integration—The integration requires a user to log in to Hansoft. Add a dedicated SDK user for the integration.
  • Hansoft Slack Bot—The bot is an application connects to Slack and performs actions. When you configure the integration, the bot is configured for you and then you download and run it. The bot must be running for the integration to work.

Installation and configuration

1. Determine if the Hansoft web service is already installed in your environment. If not, you can install and configure it when adding the integration to your Slack workspace.

2. Add an SDK user in Hansoft for the integration.

3. Add the Hansoft Slack application to your workspace.

4. Start the Hansoft web service.

5. Invite the bot to Slack channels.

Note:  The base URL for the Hansoft web service must be configured to open items using URLs in Hansoft. See the Hansoft user guide for information.
