Select a folder for your workspace

Use P4 Sync to select a local folder to copy your workspace into. Each of your workspaces needs its own folder.

You must create a workspace in P4V before you can select a folder to store it in. For information on creating a workspace in P4V, see Create a workspace in P4V.

1. Open P4 Sync and log in with the same P4 Server, user, and password details you used in P4V.

   Your new workspace is displayed in P4 Sync as Not synced.

   If your new workspace is not in the list of workspaces, restart P4 Sync.

2. Select the workspace you created.

   The Select a workspace folder dialog box opens.

3. Click Select folder and use the file browser to select a folder for your workspace. It is best to create a new folder for your workspace files.

4. Click Download all files to create the workspace folder and download all files from the P4 Server to the folder. This can take a while if there are a lot of folders and files.

   If you want to sync files later, switch the Sync now toggle off and click Skip download.
