Downloading changes

Download changes to get new and changed files that other users added to the Helix Core server. The files are updated in your workspace.

Tip

When you rename a file, it is shown as two changes on the My changes and Changes by others lists. This is because the Helix server handles the file with the new name as an add and the file with the old name as a delete.

  1. In Helix Sync, click your workspace to open it.

  2. Click the Changes by others list. Each file indicates the type of change made.

    Change type Description
Added The file is new. Download it to get the new file.
Changed The file was edited. Download it to get the changed file.
Renamed The file was renamed. Download it to rename the file locally.
Conflict The file was changed both on the Helix server and in your local workspace. You need to manually resolve the conflict before downloading the file.
    Deleted The file was deleted.
  3. To download changes, do one of the following:

    • Download all changes. Click Download changes. This may take a while depending on the number of files and file sizes.

    • Download all of the changed files in a folder. See Downloading all changed files in a folder.

    • Download changes for one file. Click Image of the download button next to the file.

When the download is complete, Helix Sync displays:

    • Changes were downloaded if there were no conflicts.

    • There was a problem downloading files if there is any conflict with files other users updated. Files that have a conflict are highlighted with a red border. For information about resolving conflicts, see Resolving upload and download conflicts.
