Create a project

A Helix DAM project contains a collection of assets you can work on yourself or with a team. For example, a project may contain all assets for a specific game. See Projects.

Use a project to limit access to assets to only those who need it. You can invite team members to the project after you create it.

1. Click Projects on the home page.

2. On the Projects page, click Create project.

3. In the Create new project dialog box, enter the Project name.

4. Select a color to assign to the project.

   The color is used on the icon for the project and can help others find it in the list of projects.

5. If Project type options are not displayed, skip to step 6 to create the project.

   If Project type options are displayed, select a type.

   • Automatically create depot automatically creates the corresponding depots and streams on Helix Core Server to store Helix DAM assets when the project is created. After creating the project, you must create collections and upload assets to them. To learn more, see Create a collection and Add assets to collections.

   • Manually link to depots does not create depots and streams on Helix Core Server when the project is created. You must link to an existing Helix Core stream or classic depot that contains assets to work with them in Helix DAM.      Tip

     Project type options are displayed depending on the Helix DAM settings. If you are a Helix DAM company or project admin, to learn more about the company settings, see Choosing how to store Helix DAM assets in Helix Core.

6. Click Create.

   The project is created.

After the project is created, you are prompted to either link to existing Helix Core streams or a classic depot, or create collections depending on the selected Project type option creating the project and Helix DAM company settings.
