Add sketches to comments on 2D images

When reviewing a 2D image (.psd, .jpg, .png, .bmp, and .webp), you can add comments and draw sketches to visually annotate the specific area you are commenting on. Sketches help provide clear, visual feedback alongside your written comments.

Add sketches to comments on 2D image assets

  1. Open the asset in a project. See Browse projects.
  2. Select Comments to view existing comments, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

    If the right pane is hidden, select the Show right pane button Image of the Show right panel button at the bottom of the pane.

  3. To sketch on a previous asset version, select the version to comment on in the list next to the asset file name. Comments are applied to the current version of the asset by default.

  4. Select Sketch next to the comment to enable sketch mode.

    When in sketch mode, comments and sketches on the asset are not shown. If there are unsaved sketch changes on the asset, the vertical ellipsis button is not available.

    To leave sketch mode, select the enabled Sketch button in the comment. If you sketched on the asset and leave sketch mode or the asset page, you are prompted to discard your sketches. No undo is available. Select Discard to discard any sketches or Keep editing to continue sketching.
  5. In the sketch toolbar, select or select a tool to use to sketch on the asset. See Sketch toolbar.

  6. When you finish adding a sketch, enter a comment to associate with the sketch.

    If you do not enter a comment, when you select Add in the comment, (Sketch on asset preview) is shown as the comment.

  7. Select Add.

    Your comment and sketch are added to the Comments tab. You can hide and show sketches on comments to see the 2D image more clearly. See Hide and show sketches.

Add sketches to comments on 2D images in a bundle

  1. Open a 2D image in a bundle in a project. See Browse projects.

  2. Select Comments to view existing comments, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

  3. Select Sketch next to the comment to enable sketch mode.

  1. Open a 2D image in a bundle review in a project. See Browse projects.

  2. Select Review Comments, existing comments are shown, including the user who commented and when. To learn more about changing the comments shown and the asset view, see View comments.

  3. Select Sketch next to the comment to enable sketch mode.

Hide and show sketches

  • To hide all sketches, select the Show/hide sketches on image button on the canvas toolbar. If you hide all sketches, but show specific sketches on comments, a blue dot is shown on the button to indicate that some sketches are shown.

  • To show a specific sketch, select the Show sketch on asset preview button in the associated comment. To hide the sketch, select the Hide sketch on asset preview button .

  • To show all hidden sketches, select the Show/hide sketches on image button on the canvas toolbar.
