Item types
When working with items, there are several different types you can use. Which ones are available depends on which section of P4 Plan you are working in.
- Sub project - An item that contains child tasks, used to collect related tasks.
- Release/Milestone - A significant date in a project's timeline, such as releasing a product or update. Releases appear as red vertical lines in the timeline. See Releases.
- Backlog item - A task that has been added to the backlog. This can be turned into a sprint backlog item by committing it to a sprint. See Product backlog.
- Sprint backlog item - A backlog item that has been added to a sprint. See Committing items from the backlog to a sprint.
- Scheduled task - A task that can be connected to other tasks to create dependencies. See Creating scheduled tasks.
- Bug - A task in the Quality Assurance view that denotes an issue to be fixed. See Reporting bugs.
- Pipeline task - An item representing a task in a pipeline. See Pipelines.
