You can commit items from the product backlog to a sprint. This enables you to maintain the hierarchy and structure of the backlog while working with individual sprints with their unique hierarchies and structures.
There are several ways you can commit an item from the Product backlog into a sprint.
Dragging and dropping items
1. Click Product backlog.
The Product backlog opens in a new window.
2. Click a backlog item in the Product backlog and drag it to the sprint in the Planning tab.
Using the context menu
1. Click Product backlog.
The Product backlog opens in a new window.
2. Right-click the backlog item and hover over Commit to.
The options expands to show a list of available sprints.
3. Select the sprint to which you want to commit the item.
Using the Committed to column
1. Click Product backlog.
The Product backlog opens in a new window.
2. Find the backlog item you want and double-click its cell in the Committed to column.
A list of available sprints appear.
3. Select the sprint to which you want to commit the item.
