JViews 5.5 Release Notes

This document describes the main changes that have been made to JViews since version 5.0.

This release of JViews relies on the Java Development Kit, version 1.3 or later.  (JDK 1.3 has been available since May of 2000.) 

ILOG JViews 5.0 (the previous release) was the final release of the JViews Component Suite that supported JDK 1.2.x.  Bug fixes will be available for it through December 2003.

Please note these changes to the JAR files: JViewsBeans.jar has been replaced with jviewsall.jar. One other important change is that JViewsBeans.jar also included jaxp.jar and crimson.jar; jviewsall.jar does not include these libraries so you need to be sure they are included on the classpath.

JTGO 3.5 is fully compatible with this release of JViews and is shipped at the same time as this release.

JViews 5.5 now includes the Microsoft HTML Help version of the documentation. It can be accessed by selecting the Online Help entry in the Start menu, or through the file <installdir>/doc/chmdoc/jviews55.chm.
