Submit a version to P4 Server
When you are ready to commit a version to P4 Server, you submit a pending changelist, which is a list of files and folders with changes in the selected version. After a pending changelist is submitted to P4, it is known as a committed changelist.
-
In the timeline, select the version to submit to P4.
-
Click the Submit Version
button.
Your local changes are automatically reconciled to the pending changelist.
-
In the Submit Changelist dialog box, the Changelist Description field contains the name from the timeline for the version you are submitting. You can change the description to provide more details about the changes for other team members.
-
Review the Changed Files list, which lists the changed files and folders in the version you are submitting.
You can move files to another changelist, free files to revert the changes, and copy information to the clipboard to paste elsewhere. Right-click a file in the list and select an option.
-
Click Submit Changelist.
The changelist is submitted to the P4 Server. To see the submitted changelist, click the Submitted Changes tab. To learn more about viewing submitted changes, see View changes submitted to a P4 Server
