Create a workspace for collaboration
In P4 One, each project has its own folder where you store files and subfolders related to the project. This folder is a workspace. For example, a workspace may contain a 3D scene with hundreds of textures and scene files, or a 2D project with one file.
You must create a workspace before you can start working with files in P4 One.
To collaborate with others on a project, your workspace must be connected to P4.
In this section:
Choose how to create a collaborative workspace
Before you create a collaborative workspace, decide the best way to do it based on your setup and needs. All options require a connection to P4.
-
Create a new workspace (stream depots only): To create a workspace that is connected to an existing P4 stream depot, see Create a new workspace for collaboration. If your project is stored in a local (classic) P4 depot, use one of the other options to set up your workspace instead.
-
Copy an existing P4 workspace: To create a new workspace using settings from an existing P4 workspace, see Copy an existing P4 workspace for collaboration .
-
Use an existing workspace: To use an existing P4 workspace with both P4 and P4 One, see Use an existing P4 workspace for collaboration.
After you connect the workspace to P4 One, you can continue to use it with other P4 clients.
