Use an existing P4 workspace for collaboration

If you already use P4 clients, such as P4V or P4 CLI, and have a workspace for your project on your computer, you can use the workspace with P4 One. After you connect the workspace to P4 One, you can also continue to use it with other P4 clients.

  1. In the navigation pane, under Workspaces, click Create.

  2. In the Create a workspace dialog box, click For collaboration.

  3. Click Use an existing workspace.

  4. In the Connect to P4 dialog box, select the P4 connection that contains the workspace to use.

    • If the P4 connection is not available in the list, click Add to add a new connection. Enter the information provided by your P4 administrator and then click Sign in:

    • If you are not connected to the selected P4 connection, you are prompted to sign in. Enter your credentials and click Sign in. To sign in using single sign-on (SSO), click Sign in with SSO.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. In the P4 Workspaces field, select the existing P4 workspace to use with P4 One. In the Workspace Path field, the read-only local folder path for the workspace is displayed.

  7. Click Initialize.

The workspace opens and you are ready to collaborate.

A .p4one hidden folder and a few configurations are now in the root folder of the workspace folder to facilitate communication with P4 Server.
