View asset details and metadata

You can view information about an asset, such as its author, technical attributes, and tags, and work with its metadata.

1. Open the asset.

2. Click Asset details.

   If the right panel is hidden, click the Show right panel button at the bottom of the panel.

   The asset information is displayed:

   • Tags - User-applied tags and auto-generated tags on the asset. You can add and remove tags on the asset for better identification. See Add tags and Remove tags.

   • Asset information - A description of the asset, its URL, P4 Server depot path, author, change number, and revision number.

   • Technical specifications

     • 2D assets - Details for file size and pixel resolution.

     • 3D assets - Details for file size and values related to geometry, structure, and visuals.

   • Metadata - Custom additional information about the asset. See Manage asset metadata.

   To copy the asset URL or depot path to the clipboard, click the Copy to clipboard button next to each one. The URL directs to the asset in P4 DAM and the depot path directs to the asset in P4 Visual Client (P4V).
