Manage asset metadata

Assets can have metadata fields, which are used to capture additional information. For example, an asset might have a Priority metadata field with Low, Medium, and High values.

You can add metadata to an asset or edit the existing metadata.

If you are a company administrator, you can modify the metadata fields available for assets in a project. See Manage company metadata fields.

If an asset is checked out in P4 Server, an error is displayed when you try to add metadata to the asset in P4 DAM. If you have the asset checked out, use the same P4 client you used to check out the asset to check it in before adding metadata. If another user has the file checked out, ask them to check it in.
