Download an asset

If you need to work on an asset or need a local copy of it, you can download it from Helix DAM. You can download the most recent asset version or an older version. To view or edit the asset, use an application that supports the asset file type.

1. Open the asset.

2. To display the list of asset versions, click the asset version number before the asset filename.

   In the list, each asset version has the date and time the version changed, the user who made the change, and a Download button .

   A checkmark indicates the asset version you are viewing. Asset versions marked as Deleted cannot be viewed or downloaded.

3. Click the Download button next to the version in the list. You may be prompted to select a location for the downloaded asset.

   The file is downloaded and you can work with it locally. To upload changes to the asset to share with others, see Update assets in collections.
