Changing the automatic depot creation company setting

Before your team starts using Helix DAM, decide how to store Helix DAM assets in Helix Core. You can choose to automatically create Helix Core depots and mainline streams when projects are created in Helix DAM, or to manually link Helix DAM projects to existing Helix Core depots and display their contents in Helix DAM. Before making a decision, review Choosing how to store Helix DAM assets in Helix Core.

After making a decision, update the company settings to turn automatic depot creation on or off for all Helix DAM projects in the company. If you also use Helix TeamHub, keep in mind that the Automatic depot creation company setting also applies to TeamHub.

You must be a company admin to change company settings.

1. To switch to the Helix TeamHub interface from Helix DAM, click your avatar and select Go to Helix TeamHub.

2. In Helix TeamHub, click your avatar and select Company settings.

3. In the Company settings panel, click Features.

4. Choose how to handle automatic depot creation.

   • To let users choose to either automatically create Helix Core depots and mainline streams, or manually link to streams or a classic depot after creating a project, turn on Automatic depot creation. This option is turned on by default. When this option is turned on, Project type options are displayed in the Create new project dialog box. See Create a project.

   • To prevent users from choosing automatic creation or manually linking when creating projects, turn off Automatic depot creation. When this option is turned off, Project type options are not displayed in the Create new project dialog box. Users must manually link the new project to a Helix Core stream or classic depot after creating the project.

5. Click Save to save the changes.
