Work with Jira items in ALM

You can view information about attached Jira items in detail, list, and matrix reports, and information exported to Microsoft Word. You can also add filter and search restrictions based on attached Jira items.

You can work with Jira items from Perforce ALM. In most cases, teams use the ALM Jira integration when other teams they work with use Jira to track items.

You can attach Jira items to ALM items to indicate they are related and easily open the item in Jira to view the details. You can also create new Jira items and automatically attach them to ALM items, or open the Create page in Jira from ALM to create an item.

To work with Jira items from ALM, Jira integration must be enabled for the project and you must have the appropriate security permissions. You may also need Jira access to work with Jira items from ALM. Ask your ALM or Jira administrator for help.

1. Click the Jira Issues tab when you are working with an item.

Jira items attached to the item are displayed.

2. Click Attach Jira Issues to attach Jira items to the ALM item. See Attach Jira items to Perforce ALM items.

You may be prompted to enter your Jira username and password before you can perform an action.

3. Click the ID or Summary to view it in Jira. See View Jira items attached to Perforce ALM items.

4. Click Create Jira Issue to create a new Jira item and automatically attach it to the ALM item. See Create Jira items from Perforce ALM.

5. Click Open Jira to open the Create Issue page in Jira. You may be prompted to log in before the page opens.

6. Select an item and click Detach to detach it from the ALM item. See Detach Jira items from Perforce ALM items.

7. Click Save to save the changes.
