Editing test cases
Edit a test case to change the information, such as the steps to perform. When you edit a test case, related manual test runs are not updated to reflect the changes. You must generate new manual test runs or regenerate manual test runs to use the updated test case. See Generating manual test runs and Regenerating manual test runs.
Tip: If you need to update field values for multiple test cases, use bulk change fields to update multiple items simultaneously. See Bulk changing fields to update multiple items.
1. In the Test Cases list, click next to the test case and choose Edit. You can also click the number or summary and then click Edit on the Viewing Test Case page.

Manual test runs contain all information from the related test case, but also include the results of a specific instance of the test. See Generating manual test runs.
5. Click Watch to be notified every time the test case changes. See Watching items to be notified about changes.
6. Perform any additional actions.
- To move the test case through the workflow, click a workflow event button. For example, click Assign to assign it to another team member. Click More to see additional events. See Adding workflow events to items.
- To perform various actions on the test case, click Actions and choose an action.
- To run a report that includes information about the test case, click and choose a report. See Running reports.
- To send email about the test case, click and choose an option. See Emailing from Helix ALM.
7. Save the test case.
- Click Save to save and close the test case.
- Click Apply to save and continue working on the test case.
Tip: If the changes impact linked or related items, you may want to mark the items as suspect. This flags the items to indicate they should be reviewed. See Marking items as suspect.
