You can copy URLs to items in P4 Plan that you have access to and share them with other team members or use them for other purposes. You can copy links to individual items, releases, sprints, subprojects, and more. The user you share the link with can only open the item if they have access to it. If a team member cannot open an item from a link you share, make sure they have access to the project the item is in and that the item is not hidden based on limited visibility or access rules.
You can copy a URL that starts with hansoft://, which opens the item in the P4 Plan desktop client, or https://, which opens in the P4 Plan web client.
Copying a link requires that the web service base URL is set by the administrator in the Admin area. If these items are not configured, the option to copy a link is not available. See Editing the web service base URL.
- To copy a URL that opens an item in the desktop client, right-click the item and choose Copy as P4 Plan link.
- To copy a URL that opens an item in the web client, right-click the item and choose Copy as URL.
The link is copied to the clipboard and you can paste it where needed.
