IlvJStreamTextArea

public IlvJStreamTextArea()

Creates the stream text area.

IlvJStreamTextArea

public IlvJStreamTextArea(Document doc,
                          String text,
                          int rows,
                          int columns)

Creates the stream text area.

Parameters:

doc - the model to use, or create a default one if null

text - the text to be displayed, null if none

rows - the number of rows >= 0

columns - the number of columns >= 0

Throws:

IllegalArgumentException - if the rows or columns arguments are negative.

Method Detail

append

public void append(String s)

Appends text at the end of the buffer. Whenever the number of lines is exceeded, the first lines are removed.

setLineIndexingEnabled

public void setLineIndexingEnabled(boolean v)

Sets whether line indexing is enabled. Switching line indexing off and on resets also the index counter.

isLineIndexingEnabled

public boolean isLineIndexingEnabled()

Returns whether line indexing is enabled.

setMaximalNumberOfLines

public void setMaximalNumberOfLines(int numLines)

Sets the number of lines that the internal buffer can store. Whenever the number of lines is exceeded, the first lines are removed. New lines written through the print stream are always appended at the end of the buffer.

getMaximalNumberOfLines

public int getMaximalNumberOfLines()

Returns number of lines that the internal buffer can store.

getTextArea

public JTextArea getTextArea()

Returns the internal text area.

getPrintStream

public PrintStream getPrintStream()

Returns the print stream. Writing to this print stream writes into the text area.
