2.2 The Internet Basics Package

Figure 1 shows the exception class hierarchy for the Internet Basics package. Other classes in this package are shown in the class hierarchies in Figure 2 through Figure 10.

Table 1 lists and briefly describes the classes and globals in the Internet Basics package.

NOTE -- Any hyphens that appear in the following table are for formatting purposes only. Rogue Wave class and interface names do not include hyphens.

Table 1: Classes and globals in the Internet Basics package

*Exception Classes for Internet Basics*	The Internet Basics package contains the following exception classes: *RWProtocolAgentError, RWProtocolClientCmdSequenceError, RWProtocolClientError, RWReplyError, and RWReplySyntaxError*.
*RWAgent*	The base class from which all specific protocol agents are built.
*RWDirEntry*	Encapsulates parsing and component storage of directory entries typical of those returned from the FTP `LIST` command.
*RWNumReply*	Encapsulates a numerical protocol reply typical of many common Internet protocols.
*RWNumReplyLine*	Encapsulates a single numerical protocol reply as defined by the FTP and SMTP protocols.
*RWReply*	The base class for all protocol replies
*RWStreamCoupler*	An automated mechanism for connecting an input stream to an output stream.
*RWURL*	A convenience class that encapsulates parsing and component management of URL information.
`rwAddPeriods`	Replaces all leading periods following any newline character with two periods.
`rwNormalizeLine`	Removes `<cr><lf>` characters.
`rwRemovePeriods`	Replaces all leading double periods and double periods following any newline character with single periods.
