2.5 Data Manipulation Classes

The Data Manipulation Classes encapsulate common database operations. These classes are contained in the DB Interface Module, and explained in Chapter 5 of the DB Interface Module User's Guide. For detailed information on any class, see its entry in this Reference Guide. Table 4 lists and briefly describes the Database Classes.

Class Name Description

RWDBSelectorBase

The base class for RWDBSelector and RWDBCompoundSelector. This class should be treated as a pure virtual base class.

RWDBSelector

Encapsulates the SQL SELECT statement

RWDBCompoundSelector

Created as the result of the set operations UNION, INTERSECTION, and DIFFERENCE on RWDBSelector

RWDBUpdater

Encapsulates the SQL UPDATE statement

RWDBInserter

Encapsulates the SQL INSERT statement

RWDBDeleter

Encapsulates the SQL DELETE statement

RWDBResult

Represents a sequence of 0 or more tables of results

RWDBReader

Reads tabular data one row at a time

RWDBCursor

Represents a database cursor
