Tools.h++ Professional provides access to a set of low-level data transfer mechanisms, such as sockets and the CORBA::Request object. These mechanisms can serve as an underlying source or sink of bytes for the jtools classes of the Java module, which take advantage of the virtual streams framework provided in Tools.h++.
The following three figures illustrate how stream classes and data transfer mechanisms in the Tools.h++ and Tools.h++ Professional libraries interact. Figure 1 illustrates interactions related to istreams, Figure 2 illustrates interactions related to ostreams, and Figure 3 shows interactions related to streambufs.
