1.3 Product Dependencies

This version of Tools.h++ works with the version of the Standard C++ Library shipped with MSVC 6.0, Borland's C++ Builder 4, and Digital C++6.0.

For a list of the version-specific dependencies for Tools.h++, see the file called dependencies.html in <rw_root>/htmldocs/tls<ver>bd.

If you want to use Tools.h++ features such as the Standard C++ Library-based collections and extended regular expressions, you must have a working version of the Standard C++ Library available before you compile Tools.h++. If you do not have the Standard C++ Library on your system, you will not be able to use all the features of Tools.h++.

If you use Rogue Wave's Standard C++ Library, you must use the SPM to install and build a compatible version of the Standard C++ Library before you attempt to build Tools.h++. A compatible Standard C++ Library is one that was built using the same platform and build options that will be used to compile Tools.h++. In particular, the build options for shared/static and single-threaded/multithreaded must match.

If you use Rogue Wave's Standard C++ Library, be sure to read the readme file who's location is listed in Section 1.7 for information that is essential to building a working combination of Tools.h++ and Standard C++ Library.

When used with Rogue Wave's Standard C++ Library, this release of Tools.h++ requires Standard C++ Library listed in the file called dependencies.html in <rw_root>/htmldocs/tls<ver>bd. If you own a version of Standard C++ Library other than the version listed there, you may have received an unlock key for an updated version with this CD. If you didn't receive a key, you may still be entitled to a free upgrade. For upgrade information, please call the toll-free number that appears on your CD package label or visit our web site:
