Auto assigning drop list items

When using a Drop list single choice custom column, you can configure it to automatically assign tasks, items, and bugs to specific users or groups. When an item is selected in the drop list column, it will be assigned to the users and/or groups associated with it.

1. Create or edit a custom column using the Drop list single choice type. See Adding custom project columns for more information.

When this type is selected, the Drop list configuration option appears.

2. Click Create Item.

The Create item dialog box appears.

3. Enter the Item name.

This is the text that will appear in the custom column drop list.

4. Select an Item icon.

5. Click Auto assign to.

The Auto assign to dialog box appears.

6. Select one or more users/groups from the list on the left, who you want to associate with the drop list item.

7. Click the right-facing arrow to move the selections to the Auto assign to list on the right.

8. Click OK to confirm and close the Auto assign to dialog box.

9. Click OK to confirm and close the Create item dialog box.

10. Repeat this for each item you want to add to the drop list.

11. Click OK to save.
