P4 One can handle and version any file type.

Previews and thumbnails

File previews and thumbnails depend on the file type, your operating system, and the DCC software you have installed (if any).

Thumbnail support for popular file types is continually updated. If you have issues with previews or thumbnails, or want support for more file types, let us know.

Supported file types

Previews and thumbnails are supported for the following file types, regardless of your operating system or DCC software:

• .ext
• .hdr
• .psb
• .psd
• .uasset
• .umap
• .uproject

Other file types

If a file is not listed as a supported file type, P4 One might still be able to generate a preview or thumbnail image. File type support depends on the following factors:

• Your operating system – macOS renders previews via QuickLook while Windows has its own dedicated thumbnail generator.

• Your DCC software – P4 One uses installed DCC software for some file types.

• How your DCC software handles metadata – Some DCC software saves images in file metadata, which P4 One can use.
