Uninstall the P4 for MATLAB and Simulink jar file

If you installed an earlier version of P4 for MATLAB and Simulink using a jar file, you must edit the classpath.txt file to delete the P4 Integration lines and restart MATLAB before you install P4 for MATLAB and Simulink. This section describes how to do this.

  1. Start MATLAB.

    Windows only: if you do not have administrator rights to your computer in Windows, you must run MATLAB as an administrator to make changes to the classpath.txt file. To run MATLAB and an administrator, right-click the MATLAB shortcut and select Run as administrator from the menu.

  2. To edit the classpath.txt file, open the MATLAB command window and enter edit classpath.txt.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the file and delete the P4 Integration lines detailing the absolute path to your P4 for MATLAB and Simulink jar file. This file entry is highlighted in the image below.

  4. Save the classpath.txt file and close MATLAB
  5. Delete the jar file.

After you have removed the jar file, it is now safe to install P4 for MATLAB and Simulink using the MATLAB P4 for MATLAB and Simulink toolbox file. For installation instructions, see Install the P4 for MATLAB and Simulink.
