Thumbnail/Preview generation
P4 Search can generate thumbnails/previews for several types of file, and are enabled by default. To configure thumbnails/previews, see Configure the index.
By default, thumbnails for videos and 3D models show an animation when you move your mouse across them. Video ribbons are generated by P4 Search and 3D model ribbons are generated by P4 Render. To configure thumbnail ribbons, see Configure the index.

Render: If P4 Search supports rendering for an asset file type, P4 Render positions camera and lighting for the 3D object, and generates a rendered 2D preview image and a 3D GLB model.

Texture: If P4 Search supports texture files for an asset type and a texture file is versioned with the asset file, P4 Render will add the texture to the preview image and the GLB model.
