Order of deployment

Follow these steps to install and deploy P4 Search.

Before you begin

Before deploying P4 Search, you should:

• Have a P4 Server ready. See P4 Server requirements.

• Have a list of host addresses for the nodes used by Elasticsearch. See Install Elasticsearch.

• Understand your system requirements. These will depend on your type of deployment. See System requirements.
• Know your data. Knowing the number and distribution of file types will enable you to estimate index timings and choose appropriate filters when indexing. See Index throughput and Index P4 Server from the web UI.

Deployment steps

1. Install P4 Search and its services:

   1. Check your System requirements and P4 Server requirements.

   2. Install Elasticsearch.

   3. Install P4 Search.

   4. Install P4 Render.

   5. (Optional:) Connect external services.

   6. Check the status of P4 Search.

2. Harden your server.

3. Configure P4 Search.

4. Index P4 Server.
