Install P4 Sync

Before you can use P4 Sync, you must download and install the application.

Before you start

You will need:

  • A supported operating system:

    • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later

    • Windows 10 or 11

  • If you are using P4 Server, you need the following:

    • Your P4 Server username and password from your administrator.

    • P4 Server name and port number. This is also known as P4Port. Ask your administrator for these.

  • If you are using P4 DAM, you need the following from your administrator to log in:

    • Username

    • Password

    • P4 DAM URL

Download and install P4 Sync

Install P4 Sync on your computer.

  1. Download P4 Sync.
  2. Extract the helix-sync.dmg file from the .zip file you downloaded.
  3. Double-click the helix-sync.dmg file to open it in the Finder window.
  4. Drag P4 Sync to the Applications folder or a different folder if you prefer.
  5. Eject the helix-sync.dmg in Finder to unmount it.
  1. Download P4 Sync.
  2. Extract the helix-sync.exe file from the .zip file you downloaded. You may want to move the file to your desktop or another folder for easy access.
