Ignoring files with a specific file extension

To avoid adding files with a specific file extension to the Helix server, you can exclude them by telling Helix Sync to ignore all files with that file extension. For example, you might not want to include build files or temporary files. Once you set a file extension to be ignored, Helix Sync will not display that file type in your My changes list and they will not be uploaded to the Helix server.

Only files marked as Added can be ignored.

Tip
  • This only applies to your local workspace and does not change the behavior for other Helix Sync users.

  • Files with the extension that you have already uploaded to the Helix server are not removed from the server.

  1. In Helix Sync, click the workspace to open it.

  2. Click the My changes list.

  3. To ignore files with the same extension as a file, click the ellipsis (...) next to the file and select Ignore files with this extension.
