Copying assets to other collections or folders

To reuse an asset in a collection in the same or another project, you can make a copy of it instead of re-creating it.

Copied assets are added as independent, unrelated copies. If an asset changes, copies of the asset in other projects and collections do not change.

Copying multiple assets when viewing a collection or the home page

  1. Open the project and collection that contains the assets.

You can also copy an asset when viewing it from the home page. See Copying an asset when viewing it from the home page.

  2. Click the circle in the top left corner of the assets to select them. A checkmark indicates an asset is selected.

  3. Click Copy to. The button is only displayed if assets are selected.

The Copy to dialog box opens.

  4. Select the project, collection, and folder (optional) to copy the assets to. You can filter the list by project, collection, and folder. Folder filtering is only available if the collection or folder contains more than five folders.
  5. Click Copy.

The assets are added to the selected collection or folder.

    • If an asset with the same filename, but different content or metadata is already in the collection or folder, the asset is copied as a new version of the asset.

    • If an asset with the same filename, content, and metadata is already in the collection or folder, the asset cannot be copied.

Tip

The assets will still be selected. You can copy them to another collection or click Select none to remove the selection.
