P4 DAM license

The type of licenses and number of seats depend on your installation. See License plan types and number of seats required. Contact Perforce Sales for license information.

Unless you are using P4 authentication, every P4 DAM instance requires a license.

Viewing license information

Only company administrators can view and manage P4 DAM and P4 licenses. See View and manage P4 and P4 DAM licenses.

1. From P4 DAM, click your avatar and click Company details.

   The Company details pane opens.

2. Click Details.

   The license information is displayed for P4 DAM and P4.

Updating the P4 Server license

P4 DAM requires P4 authentication, which requires managing the license on P4 Server. For instructions on how to add or update your license on P4 Server, see Adding or updating the license file in the P4 Server Administration Documentation.

After updating the license, for P4 DAM, you must restart the unicorn_backend service on the Standard node and all web nodes using the following hth-ctl command:

sudo hth-ctl restart unicorn_backend

License plan types and number of seats required

Use the following information to help decide what licenses you need and how many seats you need on each license. To buy or renew licenses, contact Sales.

If you use P4 authentication, you make license updates on P4 Server. See Adding or updating the license file in the P4 Server Administration Documentation. After you update the license, for P4 DAM and Perforce TeamHub, you must restart the unicorn_backend service on the Standard node and all web nodes using the following hth-ctl command:

sudo hth-ctl restart unicorn_backend

To calculate the total number of seats required, use: Total number of seats required on the P4 Server license = total number of active P4 DAM accounts (users) + total number of Perforce TeamHub bots + 1 user for P4 DAM + 2* users for P4 Search *You can reduce this to 1 user for P4 Search if your P4 Server is security level 4 or lower.
