Rename an asset

You can rename an asset to use a different name.

When an asset is locked in P4 Server, the asset is also locked in P4 DAM. Locked assets display a lock icon by the asset name. See Locked assets.

  1. Open the project and collection that contains the asset.

  2. Click the asset to open it.

  3. Click the vertical ellipsis button and click Rename.

    The Rename asset dialog box opens.

  4. Enter the New asset name. Include the file extension. The name must be 1024 characters or less.

  5. Click Rename.

    The asset is renamed.
