Move assets in collections

You can move assets in a collection to a folder or subfolder in the same collection, or from a folder or subfolder in the collection to the main collection page.

When an asset is locked in P4 Server, the asset is also locked in P4 DAM. Locked assets show a lock icon by the asset name. See Locked assets.

  1. Open the project and collection that contains the assets.

  2. If you are moving assets from a folder, open the folder.

  3. In the upper left corner of each asset and bundle, select the checkbox. A checkmark indicates that the asset or bundle is selected.

  4. Below the assets, select Move to.

    The Move to dialog opens.

  5. To move the assets to a folder, select the folder. Select > to expand the folder to show any subfolders.

    To move the assets to the main collection page, select the collection.

  6. In the Changelist description, enter the reason the change was made (optional). The description appears in the Asset details tab.

  7. Select Move.

    The assets are moved. If an asset with the same name is already in the collection or folder, the asset cannot be moved.

If an asset within a bundle is moved to a new location, it might no longer be picked up by the path rules for that bundle. In such a case, the asset will be marked as inaccessible or non-existent in the tree view. See Manage items in a bundle.

Select multiple assets with shortcuts

You can select multiple assets and bundles by using keyboard and mouse shortcuts.
