Install P4 DAM for Autodesk Maya

Install the P4 DAM for Autodesk Maya plugin by downloading the plugin from Perforce.

Before you begin

You must have:

  • The P4 DAM URL

  • Your log in credentials

If you don’t know the P4 DAM URL or your log in credentials, contact your P4 DAM administrator.

Step 1 - Download and install the P4 DAM Maya Integration

  1. Close Maya.

  2. Download the P4 DAM Maya Integration from the Perforce Downloads page.

  3. Double click the downloaded file to begin the installation.

  4. In the installer dialog, click Install.

    If you are prompted to allow the app to make changes to your system, click Yes.

  5. When the installation finishes, click Exit.

  6. Now configure Maya to use the P4 DAM Maya Integration. See Step 2 - Configure Maya to use the P4 DAM Maya Integration.

Step 2 - Configure Maya to use the P4 DAM Maya Integration

  1. Open Maya.

  2. Click Windows > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager.

  3. Enter Helix in the search field and find the Helix for Maya 2022 integration.

  4. To add the plugin to the toolbar, click Loaded.

  5. To automatically load the plugin when you restart Maya, click Auto load.

  6. To open P4 for Maya, from the Maya toolbar, click Helix Maya > Panel.

  7. In the dialog, click Continue.

  8. Enter your username, password, and P4 DAM URL.

  9. Click Log in.
