Compare only differences between asset versions

You can compare two versions of an asset in P4 DAM to see what has changed. When selected for comparison, the versions are initially shown side by side so you can see the differences between them.

The first version you select is the primary version. It appears on the right side of the comparison view. You can perform actions on this version, such as adding comments or sketches.

The second version you select is the secondary version. It appears on the left side of the comparison view. You can zoom in and pan on this version, but you can’t make changes to it.

  1. Open the asset.

  2. Select an asset version to be the primary version. The latest version is selected by default.

  3. Point to an asset version to be the secondary version and click the vertical ellipsis button .

    A dropdown opens.

  4. Click Compare with selected version.

By default, the assets are displayed side by side.

  5. To compare the differences in asset versions, click the Show differences Image of the Show differences button button below the asset.

Compare the asset versions. To learn more, see Actions available when comparing asset versions using show differences.

If the asset versions are different sizes, for example, if an asset version was cropped or converted to a different resolution, P4 DAM aligns the asset versions at the top left corner of the asset versions.
