Create a bot API key

API keys enable a bot to authenticate with the P4 DAM REST API. You must create a bot before you can create an API key for it. A bot can have multiple API keys.

1. Login to P4 DAM.

2. Select your avatar.

3. Select Company settings.

   The Company settings pane opens.

4. Select Bots.

   The Bots pane opens.

5. Select the vertical ellipsis button for the bot and select Edit.

   The Edit bot pane opens.

6. Select API keys.

   The API keys pane opens

7. Select Generate API key.

8. Provide the following information:

   • Key name: Enter a unique descriptive name for your API key.

   • Expiration: Choose when the API key expires by selecting one of the prefilled buttons. To choose the exact date the API key expires, select the expiration field and select an expiration date from the calendar. The expiration date is shown in the text field. The maximum key lifetime you can choose is one year.

   • Read only: Select if you don't want the key to be able to make any changes from the P4 DAM REST API. Read only keys can view data but can't make changes.

9. Select Generate.

   The API key is generated and shown.

10. Click Copy and store the key safely.

    The key is hashed and after you select Done you can't view the key again.

11. Click Done.

    The API keys pane opens.

12. Select the Back button for the API keys pane.

    The Bots pane opens and the API key is attached to the bot.

13. Select Save.

    The bot details are updated.
