P4 Server administration for P4 Cloud

For your P4 Cloud subscription, server administration and upgrades are handled by Perforce. For example, Perforce will upgrade and patch both the operating system and version of P4 Server.

Limitations

The P4 Cloud administrator and other users with appropriate permissions can perform some administrative tasks that regular users do not have access to perform. Keep the following in mind:

• Commands you can perform on the P4 Server hosted in your P4 Cloud instance may be blocked or limited. To learn more, see P4 blocked and restricted commands in P4 CLI Reference. To run a blocked or restricted command, contact Perforce Support.

• Configurables you can set or view on the P4 Server hosted in your P4 Cloud instance are limited. For a list of configurables you can set, see P4 Cloud configurables in P4 CLI Reference.

• You can only delete a depot if it is empty. It cannot contain any streams or files.

Considerations

• Obliterating files and depots: Do not obliterate files and depots close to the time you plan to proactively start maintenance for P4 Cloud or when standard maintenance is scheduled to occur. Starting maintenance during an obliterate may cause an obliterate in progress to stop without completing correctly.
