Using the Perforce ALM for Jira app

The Perforce ALM for Jira app lets you work with ALM items in Jira. From Jira issues, you can view information about attached ALM items, easily open attached items in the ALM web client, and add new ALM items.

Perform the following tasks to configure and use the app.

Administrators

Before users can work with ALM items in Jira, an administrative user or another user with high-level security permissions must perform the following tasks.

Review Perforce ALM Integrations to make sure your Jiraversion is supported.

1. In the ALM desktop client, enable the Allow Login Via Perforce ALM Web command for security groups who will work with ALM items in Jira. This command is in the General category in the Edit Security Group dialog box. See Editing security groups.

2. Install and configure the app in Jira. See Configuring the Perforce ALM for Jira app.

Users

You can work ALM items from Jira issues. You can:

View information about ALM items in issues and open them in the ALM web client. See Working with Perforce ALM items in Jira.
Add new ALM items and automatically attach them to the Jira issues they are added from. See Adding Perforce ALM items from Jira.
