Working with Perforce ALM items in Jira
If your team uses both Perforce ALM and Jira, you may be able to view ALM items attached to issues in Jira and add new ALM items from Jira.
Before you can work with ALM items in Jira, the administrator must install and configure the Perforce ALM for Jira app for your Jira instance. See
Attached items are displayed in the Perforce ALM Items area in Jira issues.
You must be logged in to the ALM web client to view item information in Jira. If you are not logged in, click Log In in the Perforce ALM Items area in the issue.
- To view the item details, click the item Tag or Summary. The item opens in the ALM web client.
- To view attached issues from a different ALM project, select the Project.
- To narrow the number of items in the list, click an item type. Click All to view all item types.
- To navigate between multiple pages of items, click the arrows.
- To add a new ALM item and attach it to the issue, click Add and select the item type to add. See Adding Perforce ALM items from Jira.
Perform actions from the Perforce ALM menu
You can also perform actions from the Perforce ALM menu in Jira. The menu location depends on if you are using Jira Cloud or Data Center.
- Jira Cloud: Go to the project board and click Perforce ALM above the board. You may need to click More to access the menu.
- Jira Data Center: Click Perforce ALM at the top of the page.
You can perform the following actions from the menu:
- To change the project selected by default when you view items attached to issues, click Perforce ALM and select Switch Project. The Switch Perforce ALM Project dialog box opens. Select a project and click Switch.
- To open ALM, click Perforce ALM and select Go to Perforce ALM. The ALM web client opens and displays the dashboard for the project. You may need to log in.
- To log out, click Perforce ALM and select Log Out. Click Log Out to confirm logging out.
