Integrations

Helix ALM can be integrated with many third-party applications. The following information can help you integrate Helix ALM with third-party applications. You can also find more information from Third-Party Integrations in the Perforce knowledgebase.

Jira

Helix ALM integrates with Atlassian Jira. You can attach Jira issues to Helix ALM items to indicate that the items are related. You can also create new Jira issues from Helix ALM and automatically attach them to Helix ALM items. See Integrating with Jira.

Slack

Helix ALM integrates with Slack to help team members collaborate about Helix ALM items. When you share a link to a Helix ALM item in a Slack channel, information about that item expands (or unfurls). Replies to the message in a thread are added to the Helix ALM item as Comment workflow events or another event configured for the integration. You can view events in the item to see the entire conversation. See Slack Integration.

Automated testing tools

Helix ALM integrates with tools to support your automated testing efforts. See Managing automated tests

IDEs (desktop client only)

The Helix ALM desktop client integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio to allow users to easily add and view Helix ALM items from the development environment without switching applications. See Visual Studio Integration.

Source control applications (desktop client only)

The Helix ALM desktop client integrates with Surround SCM, Helix Core, and other source control applications for a complete change management solution that tracks changes in source files related to Helix ALM items. See Integrating with source control applications.

Other applications (desktop client only)

If you use Microsoft Excel, you can open items in Excel to provide information to stakeholders who do not have Helix ALM access. See Opening items in Microsoft Excel.

Make sure to log out and disconnect from Helix ALM in integrated third-party applications when you finish working with a project. This is important if your team uses floating licenses because you could be using multiple licenses at one time and preventing other users from logging in.
