Attaching Files

You can attach any type of file to items. For example, you may want to attach a flowchart, diagram, or screen mockup. Or, you may want to attach a screenshot to show the final result after performing a test.

Note:  You can attach automated tests to test cases. These files are attached on the Scripts tab. See Attaching automated test scripts to test cases.

1. Open the file attachments tab when you are adding or editing an item.

  • Issues—Scroll to the Attachments area at the bottom of the Detail tab. You can only view and download attachments from the Files tab in issues.
  • Requirements and documents—Click the Files tab.
  • Test cases and test runs—Click the Files tab.

2. Click Attach.

The Open dialog box opens.

3. Select the file to attach and click Open.

4. Click Delete next to an attachment to remove it.

Note:  You can only delete run results, or files attached to test runs after they were generated, from test runs. Expected results attachments are from the original test case and cannot be deleted.

5. Click an attachment thumbnail or name to view or download it. See Viewing and downloading file attachments.

6. Click Save to save the changes.
