Setting default requirement document views for security groups

To help with onboarding new team members, set the default list window view to display in requirement documentsthe first time new users in a security group log in. For example, you want to show a view that has requirement owner and product component information that new team members added to the Quality Assurance security group see the first time they open a document to help them identify team members responsibilities. You can add a saved view that includes the Owner and Component columns and set it as the default view for the group.

You can only set one default view for each security group. If you set a default view for a group that already has a default, the selected view replaces the original default view.

Tip:  You can also select default views when editing security groups. See Editing security groups.

1. In an open requirement document, click Views and choose Manage Saved Views.

The Saved Views dialog box opens. The available options depend on your security permissions.

2. Select a Show option to limit the views displayed.

You can see views you own, views shared with you, all saved views, views owned by inactive users, and views set as defaults for security groups.

Tip:  You can also search for views by name.

3. Select the view to apply the first time new users open a document and click Set As Default.

Note:  You can only set views shared with everyone or specific security groups as a default view. If you need to change view sharing, see Editing and deleting saved requirement document views.

The Set Default View dialog box opens. All security groups the view is shared with are displayed.

4. Select security groups to apply the view for.

Click Select All to select all groups or Select None to clear any selected groups.

5. Click Save.

You return to the Saved Views dialog box.

6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 for all views to set as a default for groups.

7. Click Close when you finish.
